Why You might Not be Getting the Results You Want in Business (And How Your Personality Holds the Key)

We’ve all seen it. Two people in the same industry, with similar resources and skills, yet one flies while the other flounders. It’s rarely just about strategy or effort. More often, it’s about alignment.
Because here’s the truth: The best business results come when you stop trying to do things like everyone else—and start doing things in a way that suits who you are.
This isn’t fluff. It’s fact. And after nearly two decades in business—mentoring lawyers, consultants, creatives, and entrepreneurs—I’ve seen one pattern emerge time and time again:
When you align your approach to your personality, the results aren’t just better… they feel easier. Lighter. More sustainable.
But most people don’t know their personality is the missing link
You’ve probably already done all the things: the planning sessions, the goal-setting, the accountability trackers. Maybe you’ve taken advice from a coach whose style felt just a bit off. You tried to follow that 6am miracle morning or the 17-part content funnel… but it never quite stuck.
That’s not laziness or lack of commitment. It’s a mismatch.
Your results are being filtered through the lens of your personality—whether you know it or not. And when you’re working against your natural strengths, everything takes more effort.
So, what if you worked with your personality instead?
Enter the Aligned Archetypes
Over the past year, I’ve developed a set of four archetypes that I see showing up again and again in business owners and professionals—especially those with high standards, sharp minds, and a tendency to overthink. (Yes, you.)
These archetypes are:
The Achiever – You’re driven, focused, and future-oriented. But your constant striving can lead to burnout or “not-enoughness” if you’re not careful.
The Visionary – Big ideas? You’ve got them in spades. But focus and follow-through? That’s where you need support.
The Grounded Thinker – You’re thoughtful, measured, and values-led. But perfectionism or decision-paralysis might hold you back.
The Strategist – Logical, analytical, and always 10 steps ahead. But life (and business) isn’t always a puzzle to solve.
Each type has its strengths. Each has its blind spots. And once you know which one is your dominant style, you can start building a business that plays to your unique wiring.
This is where things shift.
If you’re a Visionary, you need freedom and creativity in your offers—and people to help ground your ideas into action.
If you’re an Achiever, you need space to pause and define your version of success—not someone else’s.
If you’re a Grounded Thinker, you need to build confidence in trusting your voice and not waiting until everything is perfect.
If you’re a Strategist, you need to give yourself permission to take action before you’ve figured out every variable.
